Livelihoods

Helping people to improve their livelihoods, empowering them to become more resilient and self-reliant. 

We run an apprenticeship programme where young people are paired with experienced tailors, carpenters, hairdressers, plumbers and other tradespeople. The apprentice is given an opportunity to learn a skill while working, and the employer is provided with business training as well as any extra equipment they may need. When an apprentice graduates, we provide them with  the tools they need to start their own small business. 

We support widows and the most vulnerable groups in Butaleja with income-generating activities, agricultural support, business training and VSLAs (Village Savings and Loan Associations).
