We love it when a plan comes together.
It’s always exciting when an idea transforms into a reality, and this is what Phil and Hannah have been witnessing in Busolwe this week. Thanks to a specific donation kindly given by a couple in the UK, two boreholes have now been fixed.
a little bit of HOPE focuses on promoting and enabling sustainability within communities as much as possible, so that the benefits of projects are long-lasting and people can fully overcome their hurdles, not just come close. Asking local people to personally invest in the projects that will affect them (money, time, ideas) helps to achieve this as a personal link and sense of ownership are created. The local community contributed a small amount of money to help fix these boreholes, which ensures they will look after them and that they will be valued.
Fixing a borehole is a great thing to do because:
– clean water is so important
– it helps such a large number of people
– it helps a little bit of HOPE to become more known in the community
It is such a simple task to complete; yet it can transform a community. This is why we hope to repair six more boreholes this year. We will need to raise about £1000 in order to achieve this, so if you would like to be a part of making this possible, we would love to hear from you and help you get involved.
