In the UK, we launched our ‘Give poverty a nudge’ campaign – this is more than just a clever fundraising initiative, it explains the underlying approach to everything we do! The first stage of this campaign was encouraging people to give £1 – because £1 enables us to teach a girl how to make a reusable sanitary towel which increases the likelihood that she’ll be able to stay in education. October also saw the completion of the 31st latrine to be built as part of our sanitation education programme. Building these latrines has been one of our main programmes this year. Our team welcomed more visitors from the UK as guests from churches in Oswestry and Clacton (who support the Bible translation work in the Butaleja District of Uganda) spend time visiting our work.
